Frequently Asked Questions

What does CutBoard Studio do?

CutBoard Studio is a production company that works with ad agencies, corporations, local businesses and other entities to produce internal and public-facing video and design projects.

How much will it cost?

Every production project is unique; there is no formula. The first step is to fill out our Request A Quote form so we can learn more about your video project.

How do your rates compare?

CutBoard is by far one of the most competitive pricing production companies in Spokane. We keep our overhead costs down so we can maximize your budget and do more with less.

Will you help us develop content?

Yes. We offer directional services and will assist in storyboarding, scripting, and any pre-production needs you have. Content development is why we are a cut above.

What if I only need one hour?

On any shoot, our crew puts in a considerable amount of time developing a shot list, checking off shoot logistics, preparing equipment, transporting gear and setting up. Every shoot is a 4-hour commitment, minimum. Half-day and full day rates are standard.

Is there a “cost per minute” rule for video?

Industry standards have suggested that you budget $1000 per minute at a minimum. Because every video is different, it’s impossible to use this as a metric in all cases. It’s kind of like asking, “What is the average price per square foot for a home in the United States?”

Do I own the rights?

Yes. We retain the right to publicly share your video or design project to our fans and showcase it in our portfolio. Unless you note otherwise.

I only need video footage shot.

Yes. We can shoot video and hand over the unedited digital files to you via FTP, cloud drive, or a traditional hardrive.

I have footage that needs editing.

Yes. We can edit your existing video footage. If you are having issues retaining your footage, we are here to help you out.

Do you Travel?

Yes. We will go anywhere in the world, provided that travel and lodging expenses are accounted for in the budget.

Are you hiring?

We are always keeping our eyes peeled for true talent. Send us your portfolio and a résumé and we will keep it on file. If you are a subcontractor or talent please include your rates.

Do you collaborate with others?

Yes! We frequently work with creative directors, copywriters and actors who aren’t part of our crew. If you have someone you like to work with just let us know. If you have an existing script or idea, we’re happy to produce it. We’re flexible.

How long does it take?

We have a fast turn-around time. Sometimes a project can be completed in less than one week.

What is the payment structure?

Typically, we receive 50% upfront, and 50% upon completion and delivery. We are open to different structures that make sense for everyone.

Why are graphic design services important?

A great brand coupled with great graphic design will ultimately help an organization attract the right outcomes for lasting gains, profits and successes.

Are you certified to fly a drone commercially?

Yes, our Director of Photography is an UAS licensed pilot and has an FAA Section 333 Exemption and/or a Part 107 UAS Airman Certificate.

Why do you need to be certified to fly a drone?

If you are flying for any purpose other than hobby or recreation, it is considered a commercial use and you need a license. This includes flying a drone for real estate photography.
